Trap

The modern tragedy of motherhood exists in a triple-layered trap that effectively deprives women of their autonomy. First, the biological blessing of maternity is weaponized by economic structures that penalize mothers, forcing a "motherhood penalty" of lower wages and lost opportunities. Second, to escape being "left behind" professionally, many women feel forced to suppress their natural maternal instincts, effectively being deprived of the biological experience in order to survive in a career-driven world. Third, this conflict is intensified by religious narratives that romanticize maternal suffering as a "sacred tragedy." By framing self-denial as a woman’s only divine path, these traditions look down upon women who pursue career freedom, labeling them as "unnatural" or "selfish." Ultimately, society creates a world where a woman must either sacrifice her status to be a mother or sacrifice her nature to be a professional, leaving her spiritually and socially stranded regardless of the choice she makes.
